I’m a firm believer in the saying “it’s all novel material,” meaning that you can find stories in every part of life. And even though I’ve not finished my novel, I use many of my life experiences in my writing.
I am an award-winning short story author and non-fiction writer, and co-authored two professional development books. My short stories (mostly mysteries) have appeared in various anthologies.
Welcome to my website!
As a veteran print, wire service, broadcast, and web reporter, I’ve written thousands of articles and I ended my journalism career as a media strategist for an international environmental organization.
Over the years, I’ve worked for such news outlets as United Press International, CNN, AARP Bulletin, Discovery.com, newspapers, and a variety of newsletters and websites.
I’m a member of Mystery Writers of America and Sisters in Crime. One of the highlights of my years in these organizations was serving as president of the SinC New England chapter and co-chairing the 2010 New England Crime Bake.
I am the proud mother of two adult sons who live too far away. I live in Washington, D.C., with my (relatively new) husband, who also was my high school boyfriend before we lost contact for almost four decades.
I love to travel and recently completed my quest to visit all 50 states, a goal reputedly achieved by only 2 percent of Americans (though I’m curious about who did the polling as I’ve never been asked about this topic). I’m also a major fan of museums, theater, and visiting state capitols.
